WHITECOURT TO DAWSON CREEK, BC May 16, 2009

We left Whitecourt this morning and headed for Dawson Creek. It was a nice relaxing drive and we saw 5 deer and one wolf, I thought it was a coyote at first but it was too big. Definitely a wolf, the first I have ever seen in the wild.

We stopped for lunch in Grande Prairie and made it to Dawson Creek about 2:30. So we headed down the to local museum to view a film on the building of the Alaska Highway. It was quite an achievement, especially since they build it ( 1523 miles ) in 9 months.

The most exciting aspect of being in Dawson Creek is that it is Mile 0 on the Alaska Highway.

Let the adventure begin.
