RELATIVES, RITES and ROUTES Day 11 September 19, 2009 Jasper, Alberta

Saturday was a quiet day for me. Kathy spent the morning and early afternoon hiking with the girls. I spent the day on the computer, some blogging, some questing.

Saturday evening we were meeting everyone for dinner but our first stop was at Rosie's ( mother of the groom) for a pre-dinner cocktail hour. The spread of appetizers was superb and we appreciated the invitation. Thanks Rosie.

Just prior to leaving Rosie’s the father of the bride showed up. Late. However he had a good excuse. He had joined the group that was doing the bike ride today and he did really well for the first 7/8’s of the trip. At that point his front wheel somehow turned sideways and he decided to go ahead of the bike, on his shoulder. The end result was a separated AC joint. The doctors got it back in place but I am sure not without some discomfort.

Since this was a repeat we were all waiting for the third thing to happen. He had taken a separate spill the day before but managed to escape with only a few scrapes and bruises. Stay tuned “Bike Hard with a Vengeance” may be coming soon.

We left Rosie’s and headed to La Fiesta for dinner. It was a nice night but an early night for Kathy and I. She was tuckered out from the strenuous hike and I was tired from an exhausting day on the computer. Plus we need a good night sleep as the wedding is tomorrow.
